treble clef

This treble clef is a functioning downspout made out of copper. Rain flows through the downspout until it hits the waterwheel inside. Once the wheel starts turning, the music box plays Canon in D. And just in case you don’t feel like standing in the rain to hear the music, it also runs off a pump. Hooray for staying dry!

Pretty fantastic, right? If it was up to me I might have gotten a little more creative with the song choice. Maybe the BJ Thomas classic “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” or “Here Comes the Rain Again” by the Eurythmics. I mean who wouldn’t love “Singin’ in the Rain” playing on their house during a downpour? I know I’d be splashing in some puddles à la Gene Kelly. But hey, to each his own.
