Historic preservation is a way to protect and restore buildings, objects, landscapes or other artifacts of historical significance. It first became a concern in the United States in the late 1800s when the first preservation efforts were made. Since then, it has become a crucial part of keeping our nation’s history alive.
Historic preservation has always been a big part of what Guttersmiths Roofing & Sheet Metal does. We’ve worked to preserve the historical integrity of many homes in the Madison area. Our most recent job on a historically significant property is located on Van Hise Ave, part of the University Heights Historic District in Madison. The house was built in 1925 and was granted national historic status in 1982. Its historic name is the Len S. Brown House.
Guttersmiths had the privilege of installing copper gutters that were custom fabricated to match the profile of the original gutters and 3”x4” rectangular downspouts.
